How to match a man's belt? - Belt color match
The fundamental rule of belt matching: your belt should match your shoes in color and formality. Beyond that, coordinate the buckle finish with your watch, cufflinks, or other metal accessories.
The 3 Rules of Belt Matching
Match Shoes
Black shoes → black belt. Brown shoes → brown belt (same shade). This creates visual continuity from head to toe.
Match Metals
Silver watch/belt buckle → silver belt buckle. Gold/brass watch → brass buckle. Keep metal tones consistent.
Match Width
Belt should fill 80–100% of the belt loop width. Too narrow looks undersized; too wide looks forced.
Matching Guide by Outfit
