Ratchet belt resizing Instructions
How to Resize a Hongmioo Ratchet Belt — Step-by-Step Instructions
Hongmioo ratchet belts (also called automatic buckle belts or comfort-click belts) are designed as one-size-to-fit-all. The belt strap is longer than standard and can be cut to your exact waist size. Follow these steps to resize correctly.
Resizing Your Ratchet Belt
Detach the Strap from the Buckle
Open the back clamp of the ratchet buckle. Slide the belt strap out of the buckle completely. Set the buckle aside.
Measure Your Correct Length
Take your waist size and add 7 inches (18 cm). Measure this total length from the tip (the end farthest from the buckle attachment point). Mark the cutting point clearly with a pen or chalk.
Cut the Strap
Using sharp scissors or a utility knife, cut the leather or material strap at your marked point. Cut straight across for a clean edge. If your strap has stitching, cut just past the last stitch line.
Reattach the Buckle
Slide the freshly cut end back into the buckle clamp. Ensure the strap sits evenly inside the clamp channel. Close the clamp firmly.
Press Down Hard
Press the back clamp down with your thumb or a soft mallet until you hear it click or feel it lock into place. Tug gently to confirm the strap is secured.
Pro tip: If you are between sizes, size up rather than down. You can always trim more, but you cannot add material back. The center adjustment hole (or ratchet tooth) should align with your natural waist.
